Discussing the Role of AI in Your Course with Your Students Online
This workshop focuses on classroom conversations: how to explain your expectations around AI in a way students understand, how to address the questions they are likely to ask, and how to build a shared understanding of academic integrity in an AI-present world.
This workshop provides a space for participants to work to explore the range of AI-related discussions they are likely to encounter from policy conversations to learning conversations, planned to spontaneous.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify different kinds of discussions they are likely to have with students about the use and role of AI in their course
- Prepare approaches and responses for likely scenarios
- Develop and articulate a personal stance towards AI use
