Giving Students Feedback on Assignments Online

Effective feedback is a powerful tool for supporting student learning, motivation, and growth. In this interactive session, we’ll explore the role of feedback in the learning process, examine what makes feedback effective, and consider practical strategies and tools that can help streamline the process. You’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your own feedback practices and identify one actionable step to apply in your teaching this term.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the role of assessment and feedback in student learning.
  • Analyze examples of feedback to determine how well they align with key principles that support student learning.
  • Explore practical strategies and educational technology tools to streamline feedback processes.
  • Reflect on your current feedback practices and commit to at least one action you will implement in your teaching this term.
